This page lays out what BRUTAL Optimizer offers for readability and accessibility today, and what it does not yet. We'd rather be honest about the gaps than imply a feature exists.
What's available now
- Dark and light theme toggle. Switch between the signature dark theme and a clean light theme in Settings. The light theme has a brighter background, which some people find easier to read.
- Larger text via Windows display scaling. The app honors your Windows scaling setting, so the whole interface grows with the system. Open Settings → System → Display → Scale in Windows and raise the percentage; BRUTAL's text and controls scale up to match.
- FPS overlay font and color controls. The on-screen FPS overlay has its own font-size, color, and opacity settings, separate from the rest of the app, so you can make the in-game readout as large and high-contrast as you need.
Windows display scaling affects every app, not just BRUTAL. If you want larger text only here, there's no app-only text-size slider yet — system scaling is the supported path.
What isn't here yet
We want to be straight with you about the current limits:
- There is no dedicated high-contrast mode beyond the dark/light theme choice.
- There is no full keyboard-navigation map — not every control is reachable or operable by keyboard alone today.
- The app is English only right now. See App languages.
If you rely on a screen reader or keyboard-only navigation, parts of the app may not be fully usable yet. We'd genuinely like to hear what you need.

FAQ
How do I make the text bigger?
Raise your Windows display scaling: Settings → System → Display → Scale. BRUTAL Optimizer honors that setting, so its text and controls grow with the system. There is no app-only text-size slider yet.
Is there a high-contrast mode?
Not a dedicated one. Your options today are the dark and light themes in Settings. For the in-game FPS overlay, you can set your own font size, color, and opacity for a high-contrast readout.
Can I use the app with only a keyboard or a screen reader?
Partly. There is no full keyboard-navigation map yet, so some controls may not be reachable by keyboard alone, and screen-reader support is incomplete. If this blocks you, please email [email protected] and describe your setup.
