Every "gaming VPN" swears it'll cut your ping. Smart Route times your real path to the game server — direct, and through a nearby relay — and only reroutes when the relay is genuinely faster. Then it keeps checking, and reverts by itself the moment it stops helping. When your connection is already good, it says so and stays direct. No fake "lag-free" promises.
It shows you the before and after
Smart Route never asks you to take its word for it. Every session, it pings the direct path and the relay path — with the same probe method, apples to apples — and puts them side by side. Sometimes the relay wins. Sometimes you're already optimal — and it says so.
That second case is the one no gaming VPN will show you. Rerouting can only help when your ISP's path is genuinely worse than a relay's — so when it isn't, Smart Route does the honest thing and gets out of the way. Example sessions — the app shows your numbers.
The only booster that shows receipts
Other tools show you a green "boosted" badge and hope you don't check. Smart Route keeps verifying after it engages — and every action it takes is written down, in plain language, while you play.
- Tunnel truth, not vibes. It reads the WireGuard handshake and the actual bytes flowing through the relay. If traffic isn't moving, the badge doesn't stay green.
- Follows your match — at the break. Smart Route never switches mid-match: changing your route mid-game changes the IP the server sees, which drops you. When the game moves you to a new match server it holds your current route, re-measures against the new one at the next gap between matches, and moves the route if a relay wins there.
- Re-measures every 90 seconds. The relay has to keep beating your direct path — by the same test that engaged it.
- Reverts by itself, and says why. "Smart Route stopped helping — reverted to your direct route." is a sentence no competitor's app will ever print.
- Reverts when you close the game. Auto Smart Route cleans up after itself — nothing lingers.
Measure, compare, route, guard — in that order
The whole trick is restraint. Even Cloudflare's world-class routing makes some games worse when it's forced on. Smart Route earns the reroute, then keeps earning it.
Detect the real server
It reads the actual game-server address your session is talking to — from Windows' own network telemetry, no injection — even inside emulators like GameLoop and BlueStacks.
Measure both paths
It times the direct route and the best relay's full route — median ping, jitter and packet loss, same probe method on both sides — live.
Route only if it wins
If the relay is genuinely faster or materially steadier, it engages the split-tunnel — testing only the best candidate, never dragging your live match through a parade of losers.
Guard & revert
After engaging it keeps verifying: handshake, real traffic, re-measures. The moment the relay stops winning — or you close the game — it reverts by itself and tells you why.

Auto Smart Route — per game, opt-in
Pick your games once. When one launches, Smart Route measures and engages only on a measured win — then reverts when you close it. Automatic engaging is offered only for a short list of titles whose anti-cheat runs on the game's servers; everything else is manual — you decide.
Per-game anti-cheat badges
Every title shows its anti-cheat class in the app, and there are three: server-side anti-cheat, where a short list of titles can engage automatically; kernel anti-cheat PC games (Vanguard, EAC, BattlEye, Ricochet), manual only with a clear warning; and — for most of the catalogue — anti-cheat not verified, which we treat exactly like a kernel title: manual only, you decide. None of these is a promise about a publisher's rules: whether relayed traffic is allowed is theirs to decide. Plus a kill switch we can flip server-side if a publisher ever objects. Your account's safety outranks our feature.
One installer
WireGuard is bundled — the official build signed by WireGuard LLC, installed silently only if you don't have it. No second download, no extra steps.
Keys never leave your PC
The WireGuard keypair is generated on your device and stored encrypted. Only the public key is registered to the relay. We couldn't read your traffic if we wanted to.
Surgical split-tunnel
Only the game server's address routes through the relay. Browser, Discord, downloads — everything else stays on your normal connection. And it tears down clean: nothing lingers after exit.
Pin a relay, still see the truth
Power users can pin a relay per game. Smart Route still measures it honestly — and if your pin is slower than direct, it says so on screen before you choose to engage anyway. Labeled, never hidden.
Emulator-native detection
Most boosters miss GameLoop and BlueStacks because the game's traffic comes from a child engine process. Smart Route attributes traffic to the real emulator engine — built on the same detection our Guardian already uses.

Smart Route starts with a verified allow-list of emulator and mobile titles on Asia/India servers, and refuses to auto-engage when it can't confidently identify the server. Coverage grows server-side — new titles appear without an app update.

What Smart Route will never claim
Promises we refuse to make
- "Lag-free gaming." Nothing beats the speed of light. We reduce a bad route; we can't erase distance.
- A fixed "% lower ping." Your route is unique. We show your measured numbers, not a marketing average.
- "We'll route you and it'll be faster." If direct is faster, we stay direct — every time.
- "Boosts your FPS." Routing changes your ping, not your GPU. FPS is a separate, honest part of the app.
- "Thousands of servers." We name our real relays. A small honest fleet beats a fake globe.
- "Undetectable / ban-proof." We never touch the game — no injection, no driver of ours. Routing is a separate question: a datacenter IP isn't invisible, publishers can see relayed traffic and set their own rules about it, and we can't promise none of them ever will. That's why kernel-anti-cheat titles — and any title whose anti-cheat we haven't verified — are opt-in only.

Does Smart Route actually lower my ping?
Sometimes — and it tells you the truth either way. A relay can only beat your ISP's default path when that path is genuinely congested or badly routed. Smart Route measures your direct ping and the relay ping side by side — with the same probe method, apples to apples — and reroutes only when the relay is genuinely faster (or materially steadier). When your route is already good, it stays direct and says so. It disengages when later measurements show the relay no longer helps, and it never promises a fixed number.
What happens after it engages?
It stays honest. A health monitor keeps verifying the tunnel: the WireGuard handshake, the actual bytes flowing through the relay, and a re-measure of the route every 90 seconds. When the game moves you to a new match server it holds your current route rather than switching mid-match — switching would change the IP the game sees and drop you — and re-tests the new server at the next break between matches. The moment the relay stops beating your direct path — or you close the game — it reverts by itself and writes the reason in the activity feed. No zombie "ENGAGED" badge.
Will it get me banned?
We never touch the game: a standard WireGuard split-tunnel that carries only your game's server traffic, with no injection and no kernel driver of ours. Whether relayed traffic is allowed is a separate question and it belongs to the publisher — they can detect it and may flag it, and our terms say so plainly. Only a short list of titles whose anti-cheat runs on the game's servers can engage automatically; kernel-anti-cheat titles like Valorant, and any title whose anti-cheat we have not verified, are never auto-routed and need an explicit, warned confirmation. How is it different from ExitLag, WTFast or NoPing?
Those route your traffic through their network and promise lower ping. Smart Route measures first, reroutes only when it's genuinely faster, shows the before/after, keeps verifying after it engages, and reverts by itself when it stops helping. Do I need to install WireGuard separately?
No. The BRUTAL installer bundles the official WireGuard for Windows and installs it silently when it's missing — one installer, one click. The bundled MSI is the official build signed by WireGuard LLC, and we verify that signature before it ships inside our signed installer. If you've removed it, the Smart Routing tab can install it again in one click.
Which games work with it?
An allow-list of emulator and mobile titles, plus PC games, each showing its anti-cheat class in the app before you route it. Whether it helps depends on your route, not the game: long cross-border paths are where a relay tends to help most, and a server that is already close to you leaves little to gain. Coverage grows server-side, without app updates.
