Installing BRUTAL Optimizer and the first run

Installing BRUTAL Optimizer takes a couple of minutes. The first launch shows you three things in order: a UAC elevation prompt, the Terms acceptance, and an optional email sign-in. This guide walks through each so nothing catches you off guard.

Step 1: Download and install

Download the installer from the official site, brutaloptimizer.com.
Run the installer and follow the prompts. It installs the app and creates Start Menu and (optionally) desktop shortcuts.
The published build is a standard Inno Setup installer, so updates later can install in place silently.

The installer is digitally signed by Arhas India (OPC) Private Limited, the company behind BRUTAL Optimizer. A new release can still get a Windows SmartScreen prompt for a while, because SmartScreen builds its reputation per file. If it appears, choose More info and check that the publisher reads Arhas India (OPC) Private Limited before you choose Run anyway. If it says Unknown publisher or any other name, don't run it — download the installer again from brutaloptimizer.com.

Step 2: Allow Administrator access (UAC)

BRUTAL Optimizer requires Administrator rights because it changes registry keys, services, power plans, and drivers. Every time you launch it, Windows shows a User Account Control prompt naming Arhas India (OPC) Private Limited as the verified publisher. Click Yes. This is expected and normal for an optimizer.

If you click No on the UAC prompt, the app cannot start. There is no "limited mode", because almost everything it does needs elevation.

Step 3: Accept the Terms

On the very first run, the app shows a Terms & Conditions window. Read it and click to accept. If you decline, the app closes immediately, this is a hard gate. You only see this once; your acceptance is remembered.

Step 4: Sign in with your email (optional)

After the Terms, a sign-in window may appear. Signing in is optional and passwordless — press Not now to go straight to the app. To sign in:

Enter your email address and request a code.
Check your inbox for a 6-digit sign-in code and type it in.
The app verifies the code, creates (or signs you back into) your account, and remembers you on this machine.

This same step recovers an existing license: if you already bought Pro or have a free account, signing in with the same email restores it and binds this machine to it. Once signed in, you are not asked again on this PC, even offline.

Step 5: Meet the Dashboard

Once you are in, the app opens on the Dashboard. You will see your CPU, GPU, and RAM updating live every second, your hardware tier (LOW, MID, HIGH, or ULTRA), top memory users, and a Performance Score. The badge near the app name shows LITE (free) or PRO. From here, explore using the section icons in the left rail. See A tour of the interface to learn the layout.

Common issues / troubleshooting

SmartScreen warns about the installer. Choose More info and check that the publisher reads Arhas India (OPC) Private Limited; only then choose Run anyway.
No UAC prompt, app won't open. Right-click the shortcut and choose Run as administrator. The app cannot run without elevation.
The 6-digit code never arrives. Check your spam folder, confirm the email address, wait a minute, and request a new code. Codes expire, so use the latest one.
It says another instance is running. Only one copy runs at a time. Look for the app's icon in the system tray (near the clock) and double-click it to restore the window.
