Short answer: yes to both. BRUTAL is built to sit alongside your existing setup, not fight it. There are just two things worth knowing so results stay predictable.
BRUTAL wraps the in-box Microsoft Defender. It installs no kernel driver and no real-time scanning engine of its own, so there is no antivirus conflict to worry about.
If you also run a third-party AV (Norton, Bitdefender, Kaspersky, and so on), Windows automatically puts Defender into passive mode while that AV is active. That is normal Windows behaviour, not something BRUTAL caused, and nothing is broken.
The BRUTAL installer is digitally signed by Arhas India (OPC) Private Limited. If your antivirus flags it, don't add an exclusion: check the signature (right-click the file, Properties → Digital Signatures) and download it again from brutaloptimizer.com if it isn't ours. BRUTAL runs fine alongside other optimizers such as Razer Cortex, MSI Center, and similar tools. The catch is that different tools can change the same Windows settings, so their tweaks may overlap or override each other and you can end up unsure which tool produced which result.
Our advice:
If you suspect another optimizer overrode a BRUTAL tweak (or the reverse), Undo BRUTAL's change, re-check the result, and re-apply only the set you actually want. Because BRUTAL captures a before-state, you are never locked into a conflicting combination.
